Ventureneer Webinar Shows Nonprofit Leaders How to Build Visibility, Donor-Base Using LinkedIn

An outstanding profile is the first step in using LinkedIn to build a nonprofit's visibility and revenue. If used to its full extent, LinkedIn can source donors, prospective board members, and volunteers; showcase an organization; and take the organization into donor markets not otherwise tapped.

The door will open for those who have the key. And Ventureneer is hosting a webinar that will give that key to nonprofit leaders. In LinkedIn for Nonprofit Organizations, a free webinar, nonprofit executives will learn to:

  • Optimize their private profiles.

  • Create a compelling organizational profile.

  • Join and participate in industry and other peer groups effectively.

  • Arrange to meet people they do not know, using connections: donors: board members, volunteers.

  • Add blogs, tweets, advertising, and presentations to a profile.

  • Ask questions of peer groups.

  • Become an expert answerer.

This online seminar will be held Wednesday, July 14, from 2 - 3pm ET.

"With budgets still shrinking, nonprofits need to tap every possible source of support," says Geri Stengel, founder of Ventureneer. "LinkedIn is an inexpensive but powerful tool to do just that."

LinkedIn enhances the continual networking that nonprofit leaders do, and can feed the donor pipeline. Novices, come listen carefully. Frequent user, come learn more. For those anywhere in-between, get ready to jump start that LinkedIn presence.

Caution: "ah-ha" moments have been reported from this free webinar. The class is taught by Marc W. Halpert, Managing Partner, Your Best Interest LLC, who has been recognized for client service and is a frequent speaker at national, regional, and local conferences for small businesses and nonprofits.

"You have definitely stimulated my mind to join the 21st century," said former student Harvey Paris, president of Jewish Family Service in Bridgeport, CN.

Since leaving the corporate world eight years ago, Halpert has started two companies offering specialized, paperless electronic payment services to optimize the cash flow. In his new business, Connect2Collaborate, Halpert uses his skills in networking and his LinkedIn evangelism to train and coach others.

Nonprofit staff and management -- especially those in marketing, communications, fundraising, and public relations -- will find this class useful.
