SPRINGFIELD, M.A., Jun. 18 /CSRwire/ - Rob Thomas, president of Social(k), the nation's most diverse socially responsible retirement platform, will renew his call to attendees of the LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability) conference in Boulder, CO June 23-25, 2010 to divest of Fidelity Investments in their retirement portfolios and adopt socially responsible funds instead. He noted that on May 21, 2010, the Unitarian Universalist Association announced it would replace Fidelity Investments as record keeper for its retirement plan, citing "disappointment" with the Boston-based mutual fund company's record on human rights, including its holdings in companies that do business in Sudan.
"I urged attendees at the LOHAS convention back in 2007 to adopt socially responsible funds and divest of Fidelity Investments when reviewing their retirement portfolios and am doing again this year in light of the move by the Unitarian Universalist Association," said Rob Thomas, Social(k) president. "If a large denomination can do it, so can each of us," he added.
More than 60 million in assets have been moved to Social(k) since its launch in 2006. Most recently, Thomas established a West Coast office in the Hub - SoMa, a co-working space for a global and local community of change makers that recently opened in San Francisco.
