/PRNewswire/ - Scott Fordham, president and chief executive officer, today announced that Champion Energy Services (www.championenergyservices.com) is celebrating Earth Day with a range of promotions and programs.

Residential Promotions
Champion Energy's "Green for a Day" promotion is providing all Texas residential customers with an upgrade to 100 percent wind energy at no charge. A two-pronged e-marketing program to Texas customers is promoting the company's six- and 12-month electricity plans for 100 percent wind energy and encouraging customers to lighten their impact on the environment by taking advantage of the company's e-bill program and foregoing paper bills.

In Pennsylvania, Champion Energy is launching a 100 percent wind energy guaranteed savings product for customers who sign up for service through their December 2010 meter read. This earth-friendly product augments the company's new product offerings for customers in the PPL utility service area that launched in Pennsylvania on April 16, 2010.

Community Promotions
Champion Energy has partnered with a number of schools in Texas and Illinois to promote Earth Day in classrooms. The company is providing educational materials, printed on recycled paper, that provide hints for conserving energy at home, student tips for partnering with the planet and hands-on activities, along with seed paper bookmarks that can be planted to grow wildflowers. Carbon footprint worksheets are also being provided to allow students to calculate their carbon footprints.

Seed paper is also being provided to several schools in Houston and surrounding communities for planting on campus and in learning gardens.

Employee Promotions
Champion Energy is hosting an employee rally, titled Powering Earth Day, to celebrate Earth Day's fortieth birthday and provide educational materials. The company's Green Generation commitments will also be announced at the rally.

"Earth Day is more than a one-day event for our company, and Champion Energy is using today's Earth Day as an entree to partner with customers, schools, communities and employees to better protect our world's natural resources," said Fordham. "Our green energy electricity plans, educational endeavors and green initiatives have been thoughtfully designed to create awareness about and opportunities for greener living."
