GLOBE 2010 in Vancouver, B.C., March 24-26, 2010 will host a delegation of entrepreneurs from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), as part of the first 'SME CLEANTECH Mission' to Canada. The entrepreneurs are members of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development (MBRE), the Dubai Government's development agency for small and medium enterprises.

With the overall theme focussing on clean technology and low-carbon future, GLOBE 2010 is ideally positioned for the 'SME CLEANTECH Mission' where the UAE-based entrepreneurs will have the unparalleled opportunity to learn about cutting-edge technologies to become sustainable entities and explore new business avenues through international cooperation. The UAE is emerging as one of the biggest markets for Cleantech according to recent reports.

The ten-member delegation will be led by MBRE CEO HE Abdul Baset Al Janahi, and will be participating in several activities to further strengthen their knowledge of the sector. Over 1000 MBRE members are subsequently expected to benefit from the event.

The initiative has been conceived in association with S.S. Lootah Canada, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dubai-based S.S Lootah Group which is a strategic partner of the GLOBE Foundation in the Middle East. The partnership aims to promote Cleantech and sustainable living business opportunities in the region.

The first 'SME CLEANTECH Mission' is launched by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development in association with S.S. Lootah Canada and GLOBE Foundation, where the SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) in the UAE are provided the opportunity to learn about new business opportunities in the Cleantech sector, in-line with the two guiding principles of the UAE government strategy: Sustainable development and a Better quality of life.
