AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 11 /CSRwire/ - Ecoxera, a retail sustainability consulting firm, is proud to announce the achievement of B Corporation Certification.

Ecoxera now joins the ranks of leading companies such as Method & Seventh Generation that are setting a new corporate standard for social and environmental performance.

"As a consulting firm that provides expert sustainability strategy, B Corporation Certification was the perfect methodology to validate our own CSR initiatives, walk the walk and transparently communicate our sustainability efforts to the public," said Justin Doak, Founder and CEO of Ecoxera. "B Corporation serves as more than third party validation, but is also a story telling tool that is aligned to our company's values - leveraging the power of business to solve social and environmental problems. This is the opportunity that retailers have and exactly why we do what we do."

B Corporations represent 54 industries in 28 states and over $1 billion in revenue. To become certified B Corporations, businesses must meet comprehensive social and environmental performance standards, measured via a survey called the B Rating System. The survey rates companies on products, practices and profits, and the results are available to the public on each member's profile. In addition, B Corporations must expand corporate responsibility to include interests of all stakeholders - employees, the community, and the environment - rather than shareholders alone.

"Ecoxera is an ideal B Corporation because they are pioneering sustainability within the retail industry and guiding clients on the path to environmental leadership through strategic planning and execution," said Bart Houlahan, B Corporation Co-founder. "By becoming certified B Corporation, they affirm their commitment to environmentally responsible business practices."

In addition to B Corporation Certification, Ecoxera is also in the process of performing their Carbon Footprint inventory assessment as a way to benchmark their operational performance against international standards.

"In this era of radical transparency we will make our GHG footprint available to the public on our website at completion and plan to leverage the assessment as a means to understand our company's impacts and implement tactics for continuous improvement," said Lisa Russell, Co-Founder of Ecoxera.

As a strategy firm, Ecoxera encourages their clients to explore partnerships and benchmarking tactics that are relevant for their brand and unique to their operations.
