The International Sponsor Council (ISC), the world trade association for corporate sponsors, is partnering with G2Events on its Sustainability Virtual Summits: Smart ICT virtual conference and exhibition. The event, which will take place March 23 to March 25, 2010, is the first in a series of virtual events allowing for global industry exploration on the crucial role of communications and technology and sustainability.

"Sustainability is a corporate priority for sponsors," said Terry Cecil, ISC President and CEO. "It is critical for the sponsorship industry to commit to sustainability. This provides a long-term healthy industry environment for sponsors to engage. An equally important responsibility is the positive influence and reach sponsors can have on the actions and mindset of fans through their sponsorship of sports, music and other lifestyle passions. That commitment will result in a better future for our industry and the world."

Cecil added, "G2Events and the ISC will leverage the latest virtual technology for global leadership collaboration without taxing travel budgets, time constraints and scheduling conflicts. In addition to sustainability summits, the ISC and G2Events are developing a sponsorship virtual summit to be held during Fall of 2010."

Sustainability Virtual Summits: Smart ICT will be a telepresence and collaborative conferencing-enabled event. The event is endorsed by the UN Global Compact and will also include participation from other leaders in sustainability including the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), CSRwire, the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GESI), Cisco, Orange and Alcatel-Lucent.
