Joining an international lineup of thought leaders in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector, BSR will present on the ICT solutions needed for a low-carbon future at the first in a series of "Sustainability Virtual Summit" events, which takes place online March 23 to 25.
The March summit-which is expected to attract more than 3,000 representatives of business, government, NGOs, and other influential groups from around the world-will be the first in a series of virtual events focusing on technologies that will help solve the challenges of climate change and sustainable development. Featuring an innovative format with virtual auditoriums for presentations, meeting rooms for networking, an exhibit hall, and activities scheduled to accommodate participants in all of the world’s time zones, the event will have a significantly lower environmental impact than a traditional conference.
"This summit is an important step for the technology industry to show leadership not only in the format of the event-which is itself more sustainable-but in the content, which will present compelling solutions for low-carbon prosperity," said Dunstan Allison Hope, BSR's Managing Director, ICT Practice, Advisory Services, who will present at the summit.
At the event, BSR will reveal its road map for how the technology sector can address the climate challenge by working with its enterprise and public-sector customers in other industries. BSR will showcase its work within the ICT industry through the presentation of sustainability solutions white papers and case studies on companies such as SAP, Alcatel-Lucent, and Hitachi. In addition, several of BSR’s industry experts who work with companies in the consumer products, food and agriculture, and manufacturing and transportation sectors will present perspectives on how ICT companies can help other industries become more sustainable and competitive.
BSR has established a strong consulting practice in the ICT sector and leads several working groups:
"Participating in this event is a natural extension of the work we are already doing in the ICT sector, and we look forward to connecting with others in the industry who leverage the power of the ICT network to collaborate on sustainability solutions," said Hope.
