GreenBoard Technology, the leading enterprise carbon accounting and business solutions provider, announced today that The Northeast Transit Planning and Management Corporation, a Massachusetts Transportation Management Association (TMA), a non-profit association dedicated to easing commutes, reducing local traffic congestion and improving air quality, has implemented GreenBoard's Enterprise Sustainability Planning(TM) (ESP) tools and is concluding their first year employee commute program. Using GreenBoard, the TMA was able to evaluate the entire carbon footprint associated with commutes and establish incentives to promote alternative commuting options and other means of transportation to reduce the overall scope 3 emissions for the agency.

By using the GreenBoard ESP solution, the program raised awareness and stimulated social responsibility. GreenBoard's DeepGreen(TM) Technology, was able to determine the exact carbon footprint of each employee, based on their vehicle, route and time to travel to and from work. Whether biking or driving to work, using the rail system or walking, every employee's footprint was calculated.

Armed with this deep insight, the TMA was able to create rideshare and carpool programs that actually worked. GreenBoard's ESP gave the TMA pinpoint accuracy in determining what changes would affect the bottom line and by how much. The TMA was able to effectively raise awareness among its staff and the local neighborhoods.
