UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (COP15): The Clock is ticking for Climate Action

It's just 53 days until delegates from 192 nations converge in Copenhagen for the historic COP15 summit. It's a monumental meeting when delegates will negotiate the successor to the Kyoto Protocol.

For business, COP15 will provide the largest global opportunity for corporate social responsibility messaging over the course of the next four years.

Climate Action, produced for the United Nations Climate Change Conference in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), is the vehicle to take advantage of this unique opportunity to access such a targeted and difficult-to-reach audience.

With commentary from some of the most influential political, social, environmental and business commentators, Climate Action contains extensive editorials informing readers of the common concerns, progress and solutions around climate change mitigation and adaptation, in-line with the objectives of UNEP and the COP15 Secretariat.

If you have an interest in communicating your organisation's activities regarding carbon neutrality, Climate Action is your vehicle to the most important sustainability summit to-date. You can still feature in Climate Action up until the 15th November.

Climate Action 2009/10 Assisting Business Towards Carbon Neutrality Produced in partnership with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) for the United Nations Climate Change Conference 7th-18th December Copenhagen, Denmark. Climate Action is a multimedia platform consisting of a website, newsletter and annual publication, produced in partnership with UNEP. It was developed to offer champions of industry, international opinion leaders, distinguished academics and environmentalists a unique opportunity to debate the business case for sustainable development and carbon neutrality. It aims to encourage businesses and large organisations to reduce their carbon footprint, and puts forward the business case for climate change - namely, that environmentally responsible operations can also be profitable. Launched in Bali in 2007, enhanced for Poznan in 2008, the third edition of the Climate Action publication is being produced for COP 15, taking place in Copenhagen in December 2009. The forthcoming publication will offer insight on how companies can affect the social, political and environmental context in which they operate. It will review current business models that have incorporated a ‘green’ agenda as part of the business philosophy and it will set out in detail how companies are responding to the challenge of climate change. There will be a controlled distribution to over 30,000 key decision makers within business, government and institutional investment communities. With access to some of the most influential political, social, environmental and business commentators, Climate Action contains must-read editorial informing readers of the common concerns, progress and solutions around climate change mitigation, in-line with the objectives of UNEP and the COP15 Secretariat. With the emphasis on practical ‘actions’ - concrete steps that businesses can take to reduce their carbon footprint - Climate Action is read and used as a reference consistently throughout the year, and offers genuine value to its extensive readership. Some of the confirmed authors for 2009 include: Ban Ki-moon, Secretary General of the United Nations Barack Obama, President of the United States of America Achim Steiner, UN Under Secretary General & Executive Director, UNEP Ed Miliband, Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, UK Anders Stouge, Director, Danish Energy Industries Federation Robert Watson, Chief Scientific Advisor, DEFRA Sigmar Gabriel, Minister for Environment, Nature & Conservation, Germany Dr. Bin-Fahad, Minister of Environment & Water, UAE Supported by its website (www.climateactionprogramme.org) and monthly E-bulletins, Climate Action will encourage businesses both large and small to reduce their carbon footprint and view environmentally responsible operations as good business. Climate Action is a valuable tool for business in understanding all the issues in Climate Change in terms of policy making, regulatory infrastructure as well as taking positive steps to reducing carbon footprints.
