CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 14 /CSRwire/ - GTM Research, the research arm of Greentech Media, has released a new report: "Greening the Supply Chain: Benchmarking Sustainability Practices and Trends." Current green supply chain leaders benefit by reducing costs, increasing revenue from products that excite customers, creating long-term sustainable goals for their company and by being recognized as leaders in the sustainable market. Companies have so far focused primarily on energy reduction in the supply chain, but other efforts include designing products to be more efficient to transport, including energy efficiency requirements as part of all product design specifications and designing energy efficient models available for all product lines.

The report authors interviewed executive management, EHS, manufacturing and operations, supply chain, facility and environmental affairs professionals headquartered in North America to complete the study. Case studies were also included, taken from qualitative interviews with supply chain executives and sustainability officers.
