TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 07/16/09 -- Intelex Technologies announced today that John Phyper has joined the company as Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Alliances. John has over 25 years of experience in EHS consulting and information technology. Prior to joining Intelex, Mr. Phyper was Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Operating Officer at Atrion International, a leading Product Compliance Solutions provider that assists companies in ensuring ongoing compliance across the entire life cycle of a product. In 1998, Atrion purchased two companies that Mr. Phyper founded: Environmental Software Associated Ltd., a provider of environmental compliance software for industrial facilities (specialty chemicals, emissions, wastewater and waste streams), EHS computer-based training (CBT), and auditing software; and Phyper & Associates Ltd., a management consulting firm that provided advice to industrial and government clients related to the preparation, review, and audit of EHS management systems. Clients included petroleum, steel, mining, utilities, automotive, paint/coatings, as well as government agencies in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Mr. Phyper is considered an expert on EHS management systems and EHS legislation having co-authored several books on these topics and lectured at the University of Toronto. His most recent book - Good to Green (John Wiley & Sons, 2009) addresses the business risks and opportunities associated with environmental issues. The book also provides practical advice on how companies can better leverage information systems to reduce costs and ensure ongoing compliance at both their facilities and across their supply chain.
