SUNNYVALE, CA -- AMD (NYSE: AMD) today announced it will donate $1.5 million (U.S.) in financial support for relief and recovery efforts in response to the devastating tsunami in Southeast Asia. The company will also utilize its employee-giving program to provide a one-to-one match on all donations made by AMD and Spansion employees worldwide to qualified non-profit relief agencies including AmeriCares, the American Red Cross, UNICEF and USAID.

"As members of the global community, we are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life and destruction caused by the tsunami," said Hector Ruiz, Chairman of the Board, President and CEO, AMD. "From the earliest hours of this disaster we have worked directly with organizations in the region to help with initial recovery efforts. We will continue working with these communities to best apply our human, financial and technological resources towards long-term relief efforts."
