Albertson's Food & Drug stores have come to the aid of the Denver area communities of Drake and Bailey, in response to emergency needs as threatening forest fires approach.

With the combined effort of the Albertson's Rocky Mountain Division and the Denver Distribution Center in Aurora, needed emergency supplies are being delivered to firefighters and volunteers combating approaching fires at both locations. In response to emergency needs, over 5,000 gallons of Albertson's A+ drinking water will be delivered to fire fighting crews.

To aid the over 150 firefighters protecting the Drake community, water will be delivered directly to the command center, nearby. To aid firefighters at the fire near the Bailey community, water will be delivered to a temporary emergency center, in Evergreen. In addition, area Albertson's stores are responding to immediate requests for food and other supplies to assist in the emergency.

"Albertson's has a history of helping the communities that we live and work in when they are hit by disaster," said Charla Giles, Albertson's District Manager. "We are pleased to be able to assist in any way we can in meeting the needs of the Drake and Bailey communities."
