Alcoa Intalco Works Presented with Corporate Wildlife Stewardship Award

SEATTLE--Alcoa (NYSE:AA) announced today that its Intalco Works in Ferndale, Wash., will be honored with the Corporate Wildlife Stewardship Award by the Washington Waterfowl Association (WWA) in recognition of the plant's commitment to preserving fish and wildlife resources through habitat management, enhancement and conservation.

The award will be presented to Alcoa at the Washington Waterfowl Association's annual banquet at 6 p.m. Sept. 30 at the Coast Hotel in Bellevue, Wash.

"In recognition of Alcoa Intalco Works' long-term commitment and continued support of our natural resources and outdoor recreational opportunities, it is our pleasure to present Intalco with the Corporate Wildlife Stewardship Award," said Gary Webster, president, Washington Waterfowl Association. "This special award is reserved for corporations that have demonstrated significant contributions to our state's fish and wildlife resources. Since first joining our community in 1966, Alcoa Intalco Works has demonstrated a long-term commitment to protecting and promoting our natural resources."

Alcoa Intalco Works provides the public with access to 1,200 acres for recreation such as hiking, bird-watching, fishing and berry picking. Alcoa Intalco Works also maintains five freshwater ponds that its employees built on the property for waterfowl nesting.
