Potential Smelter in Trinidad Announced
Alcoa signed a memorandum of understanding under which Alcoa and the government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago will build a state-of-the-art, low emission, environmentally friendly aluminum smelter in Trinidad.

Alcoa, Alcan Assess Feasibility of Guinea Refinery
Alcoa World Alumina LLC and Alcan Inc. signed a memorandum of understanding to assess the feasibility of developing jointly an alumina refinery in the Republic of Guinea, West Africa.
