WOONSOCKET, RI -- November 20, 2006 - CVS/pharmacy announced today that it will again be participating in the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Thanks and Giving campaign, which will run in CVS/pharmacy locations through December 9. This is the third year of the national campaign and the third year that CVS/pharmacy has joined as a partner in the effort to support the life-saving mission of St. Jude to find cures for desperately ill children in communities everywhere. In the first two years of the campaign, CVS/pharmacy and its customers have raised over $3 million for the hospital.

The St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign gives people the opportunity to give thanks for the healthy children in their lives and give to those who are not. CVS/pharmacy store associates will encourage customers to add $1 to their purchase at the register to support the life-saving research of St. Jude.

"CVS/pharmacy has been a tremendous partner to us in the Thanks and Giving campaign," said Marlo Thomas, actress and St. Jude National Outreach Director. "CVS/pharmacy customers have shown that they welcome the opportunity to help St. Jude continue its work--and that you can make a difference in the life of a child $1 at a time."

St. Jude, the nation's leading children's research and treatment hospital, covers all costs for travel, lodging, food, medicine and treatment and no child is ever turned away because of a family's inability to pay. Eighty-four cents of each dollar received goes directly to research and treatment.

"The heart of our charitable giving programs has always been children," said Eileen Howard Dunn, Vice President, Corporate Communications and Community Relations for CVS/pharmacy. "We look to support programs that drive meaningful change and result in positive outcomes in the lives of those who need it the most. By supporting the work of St. Jude through the Thanks and Giving campaign, CVS/pharmacy and its customers are helping kids struggling with catastrophic illnesses to live longer, healthier, happier lives."
