Clear Channel Radio announced today that its Beaumont, Texas radio station, News/Talk KLVI 560 AM has received a 2006 National Association of Broadcasters Crystal Radio Award. The award recognizes radio stations for their year-round commitment to excellence in community service.

The Crystal Awards specifically cited KLVI's round-the-clock coverage during Hurricanes Rita and Katrina, broadcasting up-to-the-minute, life-saving information to those in the devastated hurricane regions. The station's ongoing community service programs include work with public service organizations and local school districts as well with the Humane Society of Southeast Texas and the Beaumont Public Schools Foundation. The station also aired an astounding 8,760 public service announcements in 2005.
