Corning Contributes $200,000 To Support Disaster Relief

Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) today announced that through the Corning Foundation it is helping to support disaster victims and their families in New York City and Washington D.C., with corporate contributions, and through an employee and retiree donation effort.

The Corning Foundation will donate $100,000 to the September 11th Fund, created by the United Way and The New York Community Trust. The fund will provide immediate support to established emergency assistance agencies in New York and other cities affected by Tuesday's attacks.

The Foundation also is making a $100,000 donation directly to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Additionally, the Foundation will contribute $1 for every $1 donated by Corning employees and retirees to the Disaster Relief Fund. The program is available to all Corning employees and retirees throughout the world.

"Corning employees and retirees who wish to make a financial contribution to the relief efforts for the victims, families and communities impacted by the horrific events in New York City and Washington, D.C. may do so by contributing to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund, marking their contribution to the Disaster Relief Fund," said Kirk P. Gregg, senior vice president, Administration. Employee and retiree contributions should be sent to the Corning Foundation for collection. "Through the Foundation, Corning will contribute a dollar for each individual dollar donated," Gregg said.
