DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 2006--One hundred-fifty ExxonMobil employees reported to a different place of work as they participated in various United Way Day of Caring activities throughout North Texas. As part of ExxonMobil's 2006 "Invest in What Matters" United Way campaign, these volunteers engaged in nursing home activities, read books to children, delivered food and assisted with other needs of various nonprofit agencies on September 14. ExxonMobil has one of the largest number of volunteers from a single corporation to participate in the United Way Day of Caring.

"Each year our employees look forward to the Day of Caring as they work hand-in-hand with those in the nonprofit sector and experience the positive impact of giving back to the community," said Don Humphreys, senior vice president and treasurer, Exxon Mobil Corporation, and ExxonMobil's United Way Campaign Chair. "The Day of Caring not only encourages our employees to actively contribute their time and talent, but it also allows them to see how their financial contributions make a difference in the way these agencies operate to help meet the community's needs."

The ExxonMobil volunteers supported the following United Way agencies: Camp Summit, Child Care Group, Citizens Development Center, Collin County Children's Advocacy Center, Dallas Children's Advocacy Center, GRACE, Irving Cares, Reading and Radio Resource, Nexus Recovery Center, St. Phillips School and Community Center, Senior Source and Visiting Nurse Association.

In addition to assistance provided by ExxonMobil volunteers, agencies selected for the 2006 Day of Caring will be eligible to receive grants through the ExxonMobil Volunteer Involvement Program. This ExxonMobil program encourages employees, retirees and other eligible participants to actively contribute their time and talent to nonprofit organizations by providing contributions on the participants' behalf.

Last year, the ExxonMobil campaign raised more than $1.4 million for the United Way in Metropolitan Dallas and Tarrant Counties. In addition, ExxonMobil employees and retirees volunteered more than 22,600 hours in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, which resulted in $290,000 in grants awarded to local organizations through ExxonMobil's Volunteer Involvement Program.

"Year after year, ExxonMobil employees and retirees continue to be one of the most generous and active groups in our community," said Gary G. Godsey, president and chief executive officer, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas. "Their tireless effort and commitment to the United Way and to the community at large is greatly appreciated and applauded by all who benefit from their contributions and goodwill."

ExxonMobil is committed to supporting community programs in cities where its employees live and work. ExxonMobil Foundation, Exxon Mobil Corporation, and its divisions and affiliates last year provided $133 million in contributions worldwide, with $42 million dedicated to education.
