Cincinnati Association for the Blind Continues Its Building Campaign

The Cincinnati Association for the Blind (CAB) continues to solicit funding for the renovation of its East Walnut Hills facility. Renovation began to its existing facility located on Gilbert Avenue in January of 1999.

The immense undertaking replaced outdated systems, including windows, heating / AC, electrical and masonry; made more efficient use of interior space on all six floors to serve more people in our community; and created new radio reading service broadcast studios. By renovating their old building, they were able to maintain their central location and proximity to the bus line. Their goal was to best serve our community while answering the growing needs of more people who are losing vision. The project is estimated to cost $3.5 million.

Fifth Third Bank is providing $50,000 towards Cincinnati Association for the Blind’s Building Dreams campaign, which is made possible through a grant from the Ohio Valley Foundation, Fifth Third Bank, Trustee.

"Fifth Third supports Cincinnati Association for the Blind’s efforts to improve and expand its services for people who are visually impaired in our community. CAB helps people with vision loss to live independent lives," states Lawra J. Baumann, Ph.D., Vice President and Foundation Officer Fifth Third Bank.
