OAK BROOK, IL - Worth magazine named Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), one of “America’s 100 Best Charities of 2002.” This marks the second consecutive year RHMC has received this honor. The article appears in Worth’s December/January 2003 issue.

Worth set out to find 100 nonprofits that have shown the greatest effectiveness in advancing their missions and are “doing the best job, dollar for dollar” in mitigating alarming problems in the world. In its article “To Give Well, Give Wisely,” Worth chose Ronald McDonald House Charities as one of the 13 top national health organizations most deserving of philanthropic support from a pool of more than 850,000 organizations in the U. S.

In selecting the 100 charities that have the biggest positive impact, Worth interviewed hundreds of philanthropy experts and extensively reviewed the charities' three-year average of revenue allocated to programs, administration, fundraising, and reserves for the future. The magazine reports: "We are confident that the charities on this list will spend your money wisely and will do their best to change some of the grim facts of today's world that we all face.”

“We are honored to be included once again in Worth magazine’s list of top 100 charities,” said Ken Barun, President and CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities. “This is well-deserved recognition for our donors, suppliers, McDonald’s owner/operators, and the more than 30,000 volunteers who have helped build this charity around the world.”

Ronald McDonald House Charities, a non-profit, 501(c)3, creates, finds and supports programs that directly improve the health and well being of children through its network of 174 local Chapters currently serving in 44 countries. The Charity makes grants to not-for-profit organizations and provides support to Ronald McDonald Houses and Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles worldwide. To date, Ronald McDonald House Charities' national body and global network of local Chapters have awarded more than $340 million in grants to children's programs.
