Worth magazine today named Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), a nonprofit, 501(c)3 dedicated to improving the health and well being of children worldwide, one of "America's 100 Best Charities." The article appears in the December, 2001 issue.
The list of 100 top charities was compiled following Worth magazine's evaluation of more than 819,000 U. S. charities. Criteria focused on the skill, innovation, effectiveness and strategic insight charities use to achieve their goals and carry out their missions. Ronald McDonald House Charities was also honored as one of "25 Best Health Charities".
Worth editors approached the formation of this list "as if our own money were at stake." In the article, they told readers: "If you had six months to research the best charities to give your money and your trust to, we're confident you'd come up with the same list."
Ronald McDonald House Charities through its network of 171 local charities currently serving in 44 countries makes grants to not for-profit organizations and provides support to Ronald McDonald Houses and Ronald McDonald Care Mobiles worldwide. To date, Ronald McDonald House Charities' national body and global network of local charities have awarded more than $300 million to children's programs. For more information on Ronald McDonald House Charities and its global and local community efforts, visit the RMHC website at www.rmhc.org or call 630-623-7048.
