Crucial Technology, a division of Micron and one of the largest memory upgrade providers in the world, today announced it will serve as the title sponsor of the Humanitarian Bowl for the third consecutive year. The bowl's humanitarian spirit takes on special meaning this year as the theme is "America's Heroes," and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to September 11th disaster relief efforts.

The 2001 Crucial.com Humanitarian Bowl takes place New Year's Eve Day, being televised live on ESPN. It will feature a top team from the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and an at-large opponent to be named in the weeks prior to the game.

This is the first year the bowl airs on ESPN, upgrading its former placement on ESPN2 and increasing the number of households available to view the game to about 80 million. This is also the first year the bowl seeks an at-large opponent, which could produce a higher profile opponent than in previous years.

Kickoff for the 2001 Crucial.com Humanitarian Bowl is at 10:30 a.m. Mountain Time, December 31st on the blue turf of Bronco Stadium at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho.
