BILLERICA, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 22, 2006--Millipore Corporation (NYSE:MIL), a leading provider of products and services that improve productivity in the laboratory and in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, today announced it has been added to KLD's Domini 400 Social Index. The Index consists of 400 U.S. companies and is used by professional investors to identify organizations that exhibit positive social and environmental records. Millipore was chosen for inclusion in the Index based on a variety of factors, including its leadership in community relations, corporate governance, and product quality and safety.

Millipore has a long history of demonstrating leadership in corporate responsibility and community service and was named one of America's Top 100 Corporate Citizens by Business Ethics Magazine in 2005. In 1985, the Company created the Millipore Foundation, which issues grants to not-for-profit organizations that support educational, social service, cultural, and healthcare related initiatives. Since its inception, the Millipore Foundation has invested approximately $21 million in local communities and programs that benefit underprivileged children, the elderly, local hospitals, and health care agencies.
