NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 10, 2006--Philanthropy professionals, corporate giving executives, technology experts, consultants and other industry leaders, attending the 2006 MicroEdge Solutions Conference in Las Vegas, October 16-18 will hear first hand, about new challenges in philanthropy, from members of two of the most highly-regarded family names in America. Gilbert Grosvenor, a fifth generation member of the family that has long led the National Geographic Society, and Mark Rockefeller, the great grandson of one of the world's most noted philanthropists, John D. Rockefeller, will address the conference sponsored by MicroEdge, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Advent Software (NASDAQ: ADVS), and leading provider of solutions for the grantmaking community worldwide.

In making the announcement, MicroEdge President George W. Macintyre said, "This is such an important time in the world of philanthropy. Donors don't just want to hear about good intentions. They want to hear about results - how success can be achieved and how that success can be measured. Gilbert Grosvenor and Mark Rockefeller have unique insights into the world of philanthropy and their willingness to share their knowledge exclusively with us is a very special gift."

Macintyre added, "As the chairman of the National Geographic Society's Board of Trustees, its Education Foundation and its wholly owned subsidiary National Geographic Ventures, Gilbert Grosvenor represents the very essence of dedication to the important cause of education. His outreach to children and teachers is legendary and the success of the Society's Education Foundation is a perfect model for the conference to examine. Mark Rockefeller has been working for the past few years on developing methods to turn intangible results into meaningful performance metrics in the valuation of sponsorships, sponsorship proposals and event underwriting, in the for-profit and non-profit world. His insights will undoubtedly help those in the philanthropy industry who are looking for ways to meet this challenge."

Mark Rockefeller will speak on Monday, October 16th at 12:30pm. Gilbert Grosvenor will speak on Tuesday, October 17th at 12:00pm. This eighth annual MicroEdge event is attended by representatives of some of the largest giving organizations in the world. It is the only conference of its kind that focuses on the administrative needs and requirements of organizations that manage a wide range of philanthropic activities. The conference provides forums on topics such as the regulatory environment, automating information management processes, and reporting outcomes and program success.
