NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 18, 2005--MicroEdge, a wholly owned subsidiary of Advent Software (NASDAQ:ADVS) and leading provider of solutions for the grantmaking community worldwide, announced today that students from the Orlando, FL area music education program, A Gift for Music (AGFM), will be performing for all attendees at the 2005 MicroEdge Solutions Conference at the Walt Disney World Coronado Springs Resort on October 26, 2005 in Orlando, Florida. The recital will be comprised of 18 students from Englewood Elementary School, also in Orlando. The students will perform three songs on the violin, each song displaying a different level of musical skill achieved by the young musicians. Generously funded by Walt Disney World Co., AGFM provides violins, violas, and cellos and instruction to more than 800 urban elementary school students each year.

The program will begin with a presentation to the nearly 300 giving professionals in attendance at the Solutions Conference from Gary Landwirth, President of A Gift For Teaching, parent organization for AGFM. Mr. Landwirth will discuss the importance of the music program and other aspects of music education and its impact on lives of young students.

"We are so thankful for the wonderful community partnerships that help make this one-of-a-kind program a success, and for helping us bring the gift of music to our AGFM students. A performance of this magnitude gives them a huge boost to their self-esteem and a wonderful chance to shine," said Mr. Landwirth. Since its inception in 1999, the program has introduced over 4,000 students to the world of music.
