NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 3, 2005--MicroEdge, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Advent Software (NASDAQ: ADVS) and leading provider of solutions for the grantmaking community worldwide, announced today that its AT&T-hosted data center maintains a positive SAS 70 opinion, based on the standards developed by the American Institute of Public Accountants in its widely recognized Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70). The Secaucus, NJ-based data center hosts online software programs IGAM, DonorCentral, HOST*Net and the MicroEdge Donor Advised Fund Service Bureau (DAFSB).

The SAS 70 audits, performed by third party auditing firms, certify that the Internet data center, owned and operated by AT&T, maintains high security standards and effective controls and processes.

MicroEdge's new hosted presence and dedicated internet connection at the AT&T data center expand upon an existing agreement between AT&T and Advent Software. "By choosing the hosting services of a world-class provider such as AT&T, our customers can feel confident that their data is safe and they are using a secured hosted solution," MicroEdge MIS Manager, Rob Engstrom explains.

Serving over 2,200 foundations and corporations around the world, MicroEdge is committed to optimizing the security of its clients' data. "While some vendors elect to use their own data centers to reduce cost," says Engstrom, "MicroEdge believes that an enterprise, SAS 70-certified data center provides the best solution for our customers to protect their valuable business data."

"AT&T is SAS 70 Type 1 and 2 compliant," says Mike Jenner, vice president of Hosting and Application Management Services for AT&T. "This certification in our Secaucus Internet Data Center - one of 26 IDCs we have globally -- illustrates AT&T's dedication to providing hosting and other managed services in a secure, trusted environment, assuring predictable performance for our clients. By choosing AT&T, MicroEdge shows its commitment to providing its customers with the highest level of data security."

"We are pleased that the data center that hosts our products meets these high standards," comments George Macintyre, executive vice president of MicroEdge. "Security is of heightened concern to all of us, and these kinds of standards provide invaluable insurance for business without negatively impacting performance and service levels."
