NEW YORK, N.Y. - J.D. Power III, chairman and founder of J.D. Power and Associates, tonight personally presented the company's prestigious Chairman's Award to DENSO Corporation at the Morgan Stanley - J.D. Power and Associates Automotive Excellence Recognition event, held at the New York Stock Exchange.

Throughout the 34-year history of J.D. Power and Associates, the Chairman's Award has only been presented on eight previous occasions. DENSO is the first automotive supplier company to receive the award. Previous recipients include General Motors Corp.; Ford Motor Company/UAW, and Hiroshi Okuda, Toyota Motor Corporation chairman.
