April 8, 2009 - Bloomberg L.P., a leading information-services and media company, has been approved as a Ceres network company by the Ceres Board of Directors, citing the company's commitment to sustainability disclosure and setting goals to reduce its environmental impact. Bloomberg is the newest of more than 80 companies that have joined Ceres, a leading coalition of investors, environmental groups and public interest organizations working with companies to address sustainability challenges such as global climate change.

Bloomberg's core product, the BLOOMBERG PROFESSIONAL(R) service, provides real-time, around-the-clock financial news, market data and analytics to more than 250,000 subscribers at investment institutions, commercial banks, government offices and agencies, law firms, corporations and news organizations in over 150 countries. Bloomberg's media services cover the world with more than 2,200 news professionals at 145 bureaus in 68 countries.

In addition to leading the way in providing information about sustainability and environmental data to decision makers in the financial markets, Bloomberg has a strong corporate commitment to sustainability. Every operating group within Bloomberg takes part in the Company's sustainability efforts. Employee education and initiatives are an important part of Bloomberg's commitment to the environment.

"Bloomberg is uniquely positioned to acquire, integrate and disseminate sustainability information in a way that can be easily accessed and used by investment professionals all over the world," said Ceres president Mindy Lubber. "Having access to the right kind of information is a key step in getting investors to consider environmental and social factors when making investment decisions."

"Bloomberg is committed to sustainability, not only as a matter of principle, but as good business too," said Peter T. Grauer, Bloomberg's Chairman. "Operating sustainably can enhance business efficiency. And our product teams are developing new tools for the financial community to manage risk and leverage opportunities around this issue."

Companies that join Ceres must make continuous strides in improving their sustainability performance and reporting practices by engaging with investors, environmental groups, and other stakeholders.
