Neuberger Berman Employees and Its Foundation Giving at Least $2 Million to Aid Charities in the Aftermath of Tragic Attacks

Neuberger Berman Inc. (NYSE:NEU), the New York-based investment management firm, announced the commitment today of its employees to donate at least $1 million to aid families of individuals killed and injured in last week’s attacks, and to support the ongoing relief efforts. In addition, The Neuberger Berman Foundation will contribute $1 million to several organizations involved in helping the victims and their families.

"We are terribly saddened by the devastating loss of life, and our hearts go out to all the victims and their families," said Jeffrey B. Lane, Neuberger Berman President and CEO, in his announcement of the contributions. "In a time of extraordinary need, we believe extraordinary corporate and individual philanthropy is necessary," Mr. Lane said.

Neuberger Berman Inc. formed the Foundation in 1999. In keeping with Foundation policy, its grants will be made only to IRS-recognized public charities aiding in the relief efforts. Neuberger Berman is continuing its efforts to collect donations from employees, and will be working with various organizations on how best to use the money.
