New York, NY - Christian Brothers Investment Services (CBIS), a leading investment management firm serving the Catholic institutional market, announced today that Francis G. Coleman, formerly Vice President of Socially Responsible Investing, has been named Executive Vice President of the firm. His duties will include overseeing the Technology, Marketing/Communications and Socially Responsible Investing Departments.

Mr. Coleman joined CBIS in 1987 and is a member of its Management Team. He has held a number of positions at CBIS, including Vice President of Socially Responsible Investing (1999-2002), Director of Socially Responsible Investing (1994-1999), Director of Marketing and Participant Services (1989-1994) and Director of Participant Services and Operations (1987-1989). As Vice President and Director of Socially Responsible Investing, he was responsible for incorporating the faith-based concerns of Catholic investors into the CBIS investment process and developing policies and programs aimed at impacting corporate behavior and promoting corporate social responsibility.

Mr. Coleman is also the Chair of the Board of Partners for the Common Good, a community-investing program sponsored by CBIS. He recently led the restructuring of PCG from a limited partnership to a not-for-profit.

"Frank Coleman has demonstrated commitment, competence and unique leadership skills on so many levels during his 15 years at CBIS," said Brother Michael O'Hern, President of CBIS. "He has played a critical role in shaping our mission, our culture and our programs. With his new duties, Frank assumes an even larger role in the direction of the firm, and we expect even larger accomplishments."

"I am very happy to be assuming these expanded duties and very grateful for the confidence and trust my colleagues at CBIS have placed in me," said Mr. Coleman. "Our mission is really a special one - combining faith and finance to promote the responsible stewardship of Catholic institutional assets. We try to invest consistent with our values, and we try to impact the policies and practices of the companies we invest in. I am looking forward to the challenges ahead, as I strongly believe in the work we are doing at CBIS."

In 1997, Mr. Coleman was elected to the Governing Board of the Interfaith Center for Corporate Responsibility (ICCR) and served as its Vice Chair from 1997-1998 and as Chair from 1998 - 2001. He also serves on the Board of the Leviticus Fund, an alternative loan fund operating in the New York metropolitan region, and is a member of the Social Venture Network, a nonprofit network committed to building a just and sustainable world through business.

Prior to joining CBIS, Mr. Coleman spent 11 years as an Administrator and Development Director of several Catholic organizations. He holds a B.A. from Columbia University.

Christian Brothers Investment Services (CBIS) manages approximately $2.8 billion for Catholic organizations seeking to combine faith and finance through the responsible stewardship of Catholic assets. CBIS' combination of premier institutional asset managers, diversified product offerings, and careful risk-control strategies constitutes a unique investment approach for Catholic institutions and their fiduciaries. CBIS strives to integrate faith-based values into the investment process through a disciplined approach to socially responsible investing that includes principled purchasing, active ownership strategies and community investment. The New York-based investment management firm also contributes a portion of revenues to support the Church's educational and social ministry.
