WASHINGTON, DC - Many of America's multinational companies and investors will meet on June 17-18 in Washington D.C. to discuss practical strategic steps to improve corporate responsibility management and how to rebuild trust in corporate America's battered reputation with customers and investors.

More than 300 corporate executives will attend the conference, which is entitled "Rebuilding Trust through Corporate Responsibility" and features keynote speeches from senior executives at multi-national conglomerate Tyco, and the world's largest transportation group, United Parcel Service.

Senior Vice-President, Corporate Governance at Tyco International, Eric Pillmore, will make the opening keynote address on rebuilding confidence in America's companies, while Tom Weidermeyer, Chief Operating Officer of United Parcel Service, will present on the subject of American business contributions to international development issues.

Deborah House, Vice President Global Compliance at Fannie Mae will be speaking at the conference on corporate governance expectations of large companies. Doug Cahn, Vice President Human Rights, Reebok will discuss the global sportswear company's human rights initiatives, while Baxter Healthcare's Gretchen Winter, Vice President of Business Practices, will discuss the company's acclaimed social and environmental reporting strategy. Bruce Brooks, Microsoft's Global Community Affairs Director and Nancy Nielsen, Senior Director International Alliances at Pfizer, will debate how companies and NGOs can partner constructively in developing countries.

Other speakers debating subjects from environmental management to consumer relations come from leading American companies such as Timberland, Hewlett Packard, ToysR US, Intel, Merck, Starbucks, General Motors, Bristol Myers Squibb, Agilent Technologies, ABB, Baxter International, Interface, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. Other organisations also speaking include Calvert, Amnesty International, USAID, The World Bank, The US EPA and the Rainforest Alliance.
