Business for Social Responsibility Releases Two New Publications: 'Changing Labor-Demographic Trends' and Allen White's 'Intangibles and CSR'

Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) has released a new trends report and business brief, which are both available online at www.bsr.org.

The BSR trends report, "Changing Labor-Demographic Trends and Their Implications for Responsible Business," helps companies prepare for the risks and opportunities associated with impending changes in the global labor environment. In the next 20 years, the world will see an unprecedented transformation of its population and workforce. These demographic-labor shifts will have broad repercussions for companies' corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices. Based upon in-house research and input from experts convened by BSR and the Population Reference Bureau, this report provides an overview of these trends and explores best practices for managing their impacts in a responsible and strategic manner.

The second publication is the latest business brief by BSR Senior Advisor Allen White: "Intangibles and CSR." It explores how the link between a company's "intangible assets" and CSR is intimate and multifaceted. Understanding how value is created through assets like knowledge, expertise and operating systems -- the "intangibles" -- is integral to understanding how long-term wealth can be created and enhanced through strong CSR performance. This new brief provides a framework for better understanding the business cases for CSR.

Together the two publications demonstrate the growing strategic nature that CSR can and is playing in leadership businesses. For more information, visit www.bsr.org.
