Resonate Inc. (Nasdaq:RSNT), the leading provider of award-winning service level management solutions for business-critical applications, today announced that a grant from Resonate's charitable fund, the Resonate Foundation, has been made to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation. The Resonate Foundation grant will help fund research to improve treatment, find a cure, and communicate with others about alopecia areata.

Founded in 1985, the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) raises funds for medical research into the causes and ultimate cure of alopecia areata, a disease affecting an estimated 4,000,000 people in the United States alone. The condition, generally classified as an autoimmune disease, results in the loss of hair on the scalp and elsewhere on the body. The foundation (www.naaf.org) solicits and is supported by donations.

"As someone who has lived with alopecia areata most of my life, the National Alopecia Areata Foundation's mission is very close to my heart," said Chris Marino, founder, vice president and director at Resonate. "NAAF brings together thousands with alopecia areata worldwide to help them understand the disease and the available treatments and sponsors research to eventually bring an end to this disease. It is our hope that the donation from the Resonate Foundation will help make a positive contribution to the lives of people with alopecia areata."

Once a year, NAAF organizes a weekend summer conference for people with alopecia areata and their families. Doctors, researchers, and exhibitors attend to hear and present the latest developments in research and treatment of the disease. Resonate's Chris Marino has presented the keynote address at this conference in the past and continues to be an active supporter of the foundation, including involvement in alopecia areata Awareness Month, which takes place every year in September.

"The Resonate Foundation grant aids us in building awareness of alopecia areata in order to raise funds for research grants, study the cause of alopecia areata, develop effective treatments and, ultimately, find a cure," said Dr. Vera Price, Chairman NAAF.
