SAN FRANCISCO, CA - May 6, 2009 - VolunteerMatch has honored representatives of the Morgan Stanley community affairs team as Champions of the Year for their leadership in employee volunteer program management in its annual survey of corporate volunteering in the United States.

The awards, announced each year at the organization's client summit, recognize outstanding achievement and impact within the VolunteerMatch network of leading companies and brands. This year's honors were presented on April 1 in San Francisco, and covered 2008 program activities at over 110 companies.

VolunteerMatch annually recognizes as Champions of the Year the program manager or managers who demonstrate outstanding teamwork, leadership, accomplishment, dedication, and spirit. This year, three members of the community affairs team at Morgan Stanley - Joan Steinberg, Lina Klebanov, and Sasha Greene - were recognized for the performance of the company's "What a Difference a Day Makes" and "Global Volunteer Month" programs, as well as their ongoing participation in projects to improve the VolunteerMatch system.

"Lina, Sasha and Joan are not only empowering community involvement at Morgan Stanley, they're inspiring us to grow the capabilities of the VolunteerMatch system," said Greg Baldwin, president of VolunteerMatch. "We're delighted to have such active and engaged partners."

"Giving back to the communities where we work is core to Morgan Stanley's culture," said Joan Steinberg, global head of philanthropy at Morgan Stanley. "We are honored to receive this recognition from VolunteerMatch, which has played an important role in providing dynamic volunteer opportunities to Morgan Stanley employees."

This is the third year that VolunteerMatch, the Web's largest and most popular volunteer network, has recognized the achievements of key partners within its client community. In addition to its 2008 Champions of the Year, the organization also honored Exelon Corporation as 2008 Corporate Volunteer Program of the Year.
