ICCR Welcomes Noted Indian Activist/Ecologist as Event Speaker at "Corporate Transformations", ICCR's 18th Annual Fall Fundraiser, September 23, 2004, at Tavern on the Green, New York.

Dr. Vandana Shiva, Director, Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Ecology, will speak on "Transforming Corporations into Earth Citizens". At the event, the responder will be Frank Dixon, Managing Director, Innovest Strategic Value Advisors.

Every year, ICCR welcomes members, corporate representatives, supporters and the public to our Annual Fall Event. Our event speakers are individuals who have transformed traditional corporate business models, and who have sought to make the just treatment of people and the environment a standard part of corporate policy.

This year the ICCR Annual Fall Event will present visions of how corporations - and capitalism itself - might change for the better. Our speaker, Dr. Vandana Shiva, is a physicist by training, but is better known for her work on the critical role of women in agriculture in the developing world, the preservation of the indigenous seeds of India, and broader issues of biotechnology. Her talk will explore possible paths of corporate transformation, and the growing public mandate for ethical corporate practices.

Our responder, Frank Dixon, is the managing director of Innovest, an internationally recognized investment research and advisory firm specializing in analyzing companies' performance on environmental, social, and strategic governance issues, with a particular focus on their impact on competitiveness, profitability, and share price performance.

Both of our speakers offer compelling visions of a transformed corporate community, in which shareholders and corporate management act ethically to reap benefits for shareholders, employees and communities alike.
