Los Angeles, California - Following the great success of the LOHAS 8 forum, which took place last spring, LOHAS 9 Forum: Getting to the Heart of Conscious Commerce will take place Monday, April 25 to Wednesday, April 27 at The Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey, California. The conference brings business executives and consumers who are committed to Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS).

This year, The Inspiration Film Festival will be launched as a lead-in to LOHAS 9 and will take place from Sunday, April 24 to Monday at the Laemmle Monica 4-Plex in Santa Monica and the Ritz-Carlton Marina del Rey. This Inspiration Film Festival is being launched in conjunction with LOHAS 9 because people who live the LOHAS lifestyle are generally those who appreciate spiritually-based films that inspire us to make a difference.

A wide range of topics will be addressed at LOHAS 9, including Heart & Soul in Hollywood, discussing concepts in inspirational films, Making Sustainability Sexy and Consciousness Cool, LOHAS Films Creation & Distribution, LOHAS Branding and Marketing, Walking the Talk - Case Studies of Authentic Celebrity, Attracting LOHAS Investment, and Building a LOHAS Community, to name a few.

Highlights of LOHAS 9 include a musical performance by Rickie Lee Jones, yoga classes with Seane Corn, Budokon with Cameron Shayne (trainer to Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston) and such notable celebrity speakers as Daryl Hannah and Mariel Hemingway. Highly respected panelists and speakers come from a range of industries and include Ben & Jerry's CEO Walt Freese, Hollywood Reporter Publisher Robert Dowling, J. Walter Thompson Co-President Ty Montague, film producer Barnett Bain, Clif Bar CEO Sheryl O'Loughlin, Environmental Media Association President Debbie Levin and many more.

This is the first year of the Inspiration Film Festival, which will showcase spiritually uplifting work of emerging filmmakers from around the world. These important films have been chosen for their ability to inspire us, lift our spirits and possibly transform our lives. There will be feature, short and documentary films shown at the festival, including several U.S. and west coast premieres.

On Wednesday, April 27, LOHAS 9 will host The Sustainable Style Foundation's OSSA (Outstanding Sustainable Style Achievement) Awards. The OSSA Awards recognize outstanding social and environmental efforts across style industries. Supermodel Angela Lindvall, of the Collage Foundation, will present the Youth Award. The LOHAS industry, estimated to be $227 billion in the U.S., provides goods and services that appeal to consumers who value health, the environment, social justice, personal development and sustainable living. LOHAS is segmented into six categories including sustainable economy, healthy living, alternative healthcare, personal development, ecological living and socially responsible investing. This market is growing as more Americans become interested in all aspects of healthy living.

LOHAS sponsors and partners include Ford Escape Hybrid, Gaiam, Ben & Jerry's, Natural Health Magazine, Organic Bouquet, Clif Bar, Wellness Water Filters, Golden Temple, Hemptown, Ajna Music, Izze Beverage Company, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, JASON Natural Cosmetics, Living Tree Paper Company, Utne Magazine, Co-Op America and the Environmental Media Association.

Full-priced tickets for all three days of LOHAS 9 cost $795, or $695 for registration before March 31. A pass to the Inspiration Film Festival, including Monday's joint program and reception at Lohas 9, costs $50 or $25 when purchased with LOHAS 9 tickets.
