SPOKANE, WA - In celebration of the completion of 22 hotel conversions to the Red Lion flag today, increasing the number of hotels by 53% to 63, the largest in the brand's history, Red Lion Hotels, in an industry first, is offering guests who put in a day of work with Team Red, a new volunteer community outreach initiative, a free night's stay on Red Lion.

Through Team Red, an innovative company-wide community outreach program designed to benefit local communities while rewarding hotel guests for time spent volunteering, Red Lion Hotel associates and guests work side-by-side to make communities a better place. Today, the first Team Red endeavors encompass more than 300 Team Red associates spread across Seattle, Spokane, Boise and Salt Lake City, volunteering on a wide range of community projects.

"Team Red is a very serious commitment by Red Lion Hotels and WestCoast Hospitality Corporation to continue supporting the communities where we work and live through community service and the fulfillment of vital community needs," said Don Barbieri, Chairman, President and CEO of WestCoast Hospitality Corporation (NYSE:WEH).
"The Team Red volunteer program builds upon both Red Lion and WestCoasts' decades-long commitment to sustain the communities we serve. With our free night in exchange for a day of volunteering Red Lion Team offer, Team Red makes serving your community even more rewarding for our guests as well."

Red Lion associates from throughout the Pacific Northwest have converged on Seattle to help introduce the Team Red initiative. From construction and landscaping projects at an urban park, cleaning and organizing a homeless shelter, to helping to put the finishing touches on a Habitat for Humanity project, over 100 volunteers, clad in their bright red team colors, are at work on a variety of projects in the Seattle area.

In Salt Lake City, Team Red Associates will help cleanup Hogle Zoo. While in Boise and Spokane, Team Red members will assist Park Rangers in an early spring cleanup effort for local greenbelt trails.

All guests participating in this program are required to be GuestAwards members. Guests who register for and participate in a Team Red event will receive a certificate good for one free night at the sponsoring hotel, valid for six months from the date of issue.
