London — In the wake of the recent shareholder revolts at ExxonMobil and Southern, energy executives are being forced to address environmental and community concerns in their business plans.

Over 100 executives from across North America will be meeting in Houston July 22-23rd at the annual Corporate Social Responsibility for the Energy Industry forum

Key players such as: Laura De Jonge from Nexen, Dr Ashley Nixon from Shell Canada and Lisa Poelle from Calpine will be speaking at this leading forum as well Steve Burns from ChevronTexaco. This is will also be the first time that ExxonMobil will be outlining their CSR strategy after the recent shareholders meeting.

Issues such as transparency, human rights, public and shareholder engagement, and ethics will be addressed and companies will spend 2 days discussing how the energy industry can integrate the growing mainstream concerns with sustainability while at the same time maintaining a viable business model.
