SEATTLE - Jill Bamburg, a member of the Sustainable Business faculty at the Bainbridge Graduate Institute (www.bgiedu.org), will be hosting a ten-day online discussion of the challenges of bringing mission-driven businesses to scale during the weeks of Sept. 27-Oct. 1 and Oct. 4-8.

The thrust of Bamburg's research, which will be conducted in part through the online forum, is the challenges values-based businesses face as they attempt to remain true to their values while undergoing growth and change. Questions to be addressed include how to find sympathetic investors; how to meet the scale challenges of marketing, distribution and manufacturing; how to embed the organization's values in its brand identity; how to maintain a values-based culture as the organization grows; how to insure that the firm's values commitment remains in place after the departure of the founder.

The forum will be held in the Public Forums area of the website of the Bainbridge Graduate Institute (BGI). To sign up, go to www.bgiedu.org/index.php?option=com_yanc&Itemid=79&listid=1&action=subscribe.

The Bainbridge Graduate Institute (BGI) is a new school offering an MBA in Sustainable Business to adult students throughout North America. Bainbridge Graduate Institute

BGI was born when co-Founder and President, Gifford Pinchot, a renowned business consultant, realized the nation's graduate business schools were churning out one-dimensional MBA graduates with solid short-term profit-maximization skills, but lacking a deep understanding of how to integrate social and environmental issues into business decisions.

The Institute's pioneering MBA and certificate programs prepare a diverse group of leaders to build enterprises that are economically successful, socially responsible and environmentally sustainable. The innovative curriculum preserves the rigor of a traditional MBA program, while infusing sustainability - including both environmental and social responsibility - throughout every course.
