Greenbelt, MD - Bank of America, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, and Merck & Company have each donated over $50,000 to the Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) making them Gold Level Corporate Sponsors. Funding will be used for a variety of programs and services offered by BDPA as well as the national conference.


Corporations Continue to Support BDPA
"There are currently over 70 corporations that have come on board in 2004 as BDPA corporate sponsors or supporters. Through these partnerships we have gained valuable insight on what sustains a healthy relationship between corporations, community, and the IT professional" said National BDPA President- Elect Gina Billings. The National Corporate Sponsorship Program was established to develop formal alliances that involve Corporate America more closely with BDPA programs, activities and goals. Corporate sponsors not only offer financial support but also participate in programs developed to enhance the technical and professional skills of the community. The investment in BDPA creates positive exposure to a technically diverse membership of African American Information Technology professionals and students. The National BDPA Conference appeals to African- Americans seeking new opportunities for long-term success and a prosperous future. Themed: BDPA: Securing Our Future Through Technology, the conference will be held from August 4-8 at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Dallas. The annual conference provides a total information technology experience for information technology professionals, entrepreneurs, IT senior managers, corporations, academia, government agencies, the research community, college and high school students. The value-packed slate of offerings given by field experts exemplifies the BDPA commitment to provide state of the art training, professional growth and technical development, entrepreneurial opportunity, technical resource offerings, and access to leading edge technology to its members, corporate supporters, and the community.
