BOSTON, MA - Compliance Week, a 30,000-circulation newsletter on corporate governance and compliance issues, has announced that Richard Steinberg, former corporate governance leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers and developer of the COSO internal control and ERM framework, will lead two sessions at its "Compliance Solutions" conference.

Compliance Solutions Boston 2003 is a two-day symposium on "best practices" and practical recommendations for complying with the latest securities and governance regulations.

Mr. Steinberg is a recognized leader in the corporate governance community. A founder of PricewaterhouseCoopers' risk management and control consulting practice, he also served as its global leader. Mr. Steinberg also served as the lead project partner in developing the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) Internal Control - Integrated Framework, now recognized as a landmark representing the standard of internal control. He is co-founder of the PwC-University of Delaware Center for Corporate Governance Directors' College, and led the major developmental study on enterprise risk management for COSO.

"Richard Steinberg is arguably one of the foremost experts on corporate governance and internal controls," said Scott S. Cohen, editor of Compliance Week. "He wrote the book ... literally. We can't think of anyone more qualified to address Compliance Solutions attendees; his sessions will be invaluable."

Mr. Steinberg's first session, "Transformation through 404: Corporate Best Practices," will discuss how the most forward-thinking and proactive companies are not only complying with the new Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 rules, but are also strengthening internal controls and transforming their enterprise risk management processes.

His second session, "Overloaded Audit Committees: Your Key Supporting Role," will discuss how audit committees are coping under the strain of new regulations, and will describe what AC members really want from financial management and internal and external auditors.

Compliance Solutions, to be held at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, MA on October 8 & 9, brings together top regulators, corporate executives, governance experts and compliance providers to outline best practices and practical recommendations for complying with the latest public company regulations.
