LONDON - On 15th October Toby Kent, an international consultant on CSR with wide experience in Africa, will deliver the first lecture in a series addressing the impact which business and economic investment can have on the gestation and mitigation of violence conflict.

Hosted by St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace, 78 Bishopsgate London, the Director Roland Smith said "We are all increasingly aware that war is bad for business. This lecture series will examine how individual companies have responded to the local and international environment in developing their investment strategies and how they have addressed the issue of local community participation."

The series will examine how international institutions and Government agencies have become more proactive in using development spending and inward investment to mitigate conflict. Lecturers will include participants from the Warwick Business School, Nationwide Building Society, De Beers and Bradford University Business School.

The lectures will begin at 6pm and continue on each Wednesday throughout October and November.
