BOSTON - WHAT: The Mary Baker Eddy Library presents the latest in the series of briefings from The Christian Science Monitor, "Values-Based Investing: Paths to Success" on January 29, 2004.

The event, which will be moderated by Laurent Belsie, business editor for The Monitor, will include an in-depth panel discussion as well as a question and answer period. "Many people have heard about socially responsible investing, but don't know much about it," says Belsie. "We hope this panel will help to demystify the idea and show people how they can invest ethically and successfully at the same time." The panel will include:

  • Jerome L. Dodson, president of The Parnassus Fund, a San Francisco-based mutual fund that invests only in companies that practice corporate and social responsibility.

  • Jane M. Siebels, chairman and chief investment officer of Green Cay Asset Management, a values-based investment firm that oversees approximately $250 million in assets for institutions and individuals.

  • V. Edward Easterling, Jr., founder and president of Crestmont Holdings, L.L.C., a Dallas-based investment firm that manages a family of hedge fund portfolios.

  • Peter Kinder, co-founder and president of Boston-based KLD Research & Analytics, Inc., which supplies social investment research, benchmarks, compliance and consulting services to leading investment institutions worldwide. He is co-author of "The Social Investment Almanac" and "Investing for Good."
