MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA - ESP (Environmental Software Providers) announced today that it finished 2004 with record revenues, profits and growth fueled by a strong increase in global and enterprise sales of its software products. ESP's very healthy 2004 performance indicates that its software products continue to fill a growing need for solutions which help global companies optimize their environmental management programs and manage and report on sustainability.

The privately-held company, which provides web-based environmental compliance and emissions portfolio management solutions, saw 2004 revenue increases of 70% over 2003, to an all-time high for the company. In addition, the company continued its historic trend of sustainable and profitable operations, showing increased profits in 2004 over the also profitable 2003. A particularly significant aspect of the company's strong performance was its international sales. At the close of 2004, ESP's software solutions were being implemented in forty countries across the globe.

ESP attributes its impressive 2004 performance to a growing recognition among mid- to large-size companies that electronic environmental data management systems can significantly increase a company's environmental performance and compliance record, lowering environmental risk and reducing the cost of compliance management. Furthermore, as more and more companies begin accounting to shareholders for environmental performance, the need for environmental management information systems (EMIS) solutions continues to grow. With a 14-year history of providing best-in-class environmental management software, ESP is comfortably positioned as the market leader in enterprise environmental data management solutions.

"ESP is very pleased to continue our trend of growth and profitability, and we are especially excited by 2004's record numbers," said Alex Long, President and co-founder of ESP. "It provides a clear indication that environmental performance is no longer consigned to the periphery, but has become a major business concern for companies. To address this, companies want solutions which help take the guesswork out of environmental management. Our software products help companies optimize their environmental programs by streamlining data management and reporting from one end of the company to another. This translates to significantly reduced risk as well as a lower overall cost of compliance."

Long also noted that ESP's successful performance in 2004 can be attritubed to a strong, active customer base that has helped ensure the integrity and relevance of ESP's products, even as industry needs change. "Our customers help keep us honest, and their high level of engagement with and participation in our software development process is the single biggest reason behind our success and growth year after year."

ESP regularly holds software user conferences, in which representatives of the company's Global 1000 customer base meet to take part in the development prioritization process and vote on changes to future versions of the software.
