DETROIT - Budco, the Highland Park based marketing services firm, recently participated in a conference at Michigan State University examining the importance of creative communities to the vitality of the State. "Creative Communities and Economic Innovation: Working For Michigan's Future," was sponsored by the Michigan State University EDA University Center.

Budco participated in a panel that showcased Creative Companies. Creative Companies are one of the cornerstones of vibrant, successful communities. Budco is considered a Creative Company because of its mission, which is to develop and execute creative and innovative marketing solutions for its corporate customers, and its focus on innovation, an entrepreneurial work ethic and social responsibility.

Garry Cole, president of Creative Services and Marketing and Paula Biskup director of Corporate Communications, presented on behalf of the company.

The challenge of fostering Creative, Cool Communities is paramount, and raises many issues for various sectors in Michigan cities, as it does nationwide. This seminar provided leaders and professionals from communities, economic development organizations, state and local government, and business with insights and strategies to make this climate a reality.
