>Newport, KY. - Wendling Printing Company announced today the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) paper and products are now available to its customers for printing use. The FSC promotes responsible forest management globally by certifying forest products through strict worldwide environmental standards. Consumers purchasing products bearing the FSC label are assured that wood products come from a forest that has been managed to FSC guidelines.

"We are dedicated to achieving leading environmental standards throughout our supply chain, and proud to be associated with business partners that share our commitment," said Jeff Zalla, Vice President, Treasurer and Corporate Responsibility Officer at Chiquita Brands International. "Offering FSC-certified products is an example of Wendling's dedication to providing responsible, high-quality solutions to their customers."

"As consumers and corporations continue to use paper products, it becomes even more imperative for the printing industry to take a proactive approach when it comes to responsible forestry and printing management," said Hal Wendling, President and CEO of Wendling Printing Company. "Becoming FSC certified is an important step in helping businesses preserve forests and promote a healthier environment for future generations."

About the Forest Stewardship Council
Founded in 1993 by environmental groups, the timber industry, foresters, indigenous peoples and community groups from 25 countries, the FSC promotes globally responsible forest management by certifying forest products that meet strict environmental standards. The organization brings industry, environmentalists, and community groups together to promote practical solutions that meet its diverse stakeholders' needs.

The FSC in the United States is supported by 14 major environmental organizations, including the Nature Conservancy, Worldlife Fund, Sierra Club and by major businesses such as Home Depot, Lowes and Andersen Windows.

Wendling Helps Secure Forest Resources
The FSC-U.S. office is located in Washington, D.C., and has a national presence through the work if its volunteer board that includes three representatives each from the economic, social and environmental chambers. It also works through its regional standards coordinators and FSC members located throughout the U.S.

The role of the FSC-U.S. is to coordinate the development of forest stewardship standards throughout the country, to provide public information about certification and the FSC, to provide a national dispute resolution mechanism, and to monitor FSC certified organizations to ensure compliance with FSC requirements.
