Global Financial Leaders Come Together Around Triple Bottom Line Investing

The Brooklyn Bridge/TBLI Group is organizing the sixth TBLI conference, an event that covers the perspectives and methods of Sustainable Investing. Triple Bottom Line Investing (TBLI) is a method that includes the social and environmental returns of investments in addition to financial returns.

This year ABN AMRO and the Global Environment Fund are the lead sponsors for the TBLI 2004 Conference, which is now the largest global conference on Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) and Sustainable Investing. "Triple Bottom Line Investing is starting to appeal to mainstream financial institutions for a wide variety of reasons, so we are expecting this to be the largest conference yet," says Robert Rubinstein, CEO of the Brooklyn Bridge/TBLI Group.

During the two-day event, expert speakers who represent the top of SRI field will present the latest developments on investment screening, auditing, reporting, SRI analysis, corporate citizenship, indexes and research. In addition, the Equator Principles which now covers 75% of all project financing, will be highlighted.

Opening Reception: The conference opens on the 10th of November at 19.00 hours at the Amsterdam Stadhuis (City Hall) with a reception for registered conference participants. The opening is hosted by the City of Amsterdam.

Conference Dates & Location: The conference will take place on 11th and 12th of November, at the Beurs van Berlage (Damrak 277, 1012 ZJ Amsterdam, Netherlands), starting at 9.00 hours each day. A detailed program is available at the website www.tbli.org.

Speakers: Among this years keynote speakers are David Blood, Former CEO Goldman Sachs Asset Management (UK); Pam Flaherty, Citigroup, Senior VP for Global Community Relations (USA), Antoine de Salins, (FRR) Fonds de Reserve Pour Les Retraites, Member of the Executive Board (France); and Eli Lund, Norwegian Petroleum Fund, Norwegian Ministry of Finance (Norway).

Gala Dinner & TBLI Award: The gala dinner will be held at the same location as the conference on the evening of November 11th starting at 19:30. The main event of the evening is the TBLI Award, which will be presented to an organization whose efforts have furthered the goals of making sustainable investment a mainstream practice. This years finalists for the TBLI Award are: VBDO (Investor's Association for Sustainable Development, Netherlands), UKSIF (United Kingdom Social Investment Forum, UK), and RAN (Rainforest Alliance Network, USA). The TBLI Award includes a 5000 prize to the organization.
