NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - For the first time, companies competing in DiversityInc's annual "Top 50 Companies for Diversity" survey will enjoy the benefit of a free assessment of company strengths and weaknesses based on the four categories identified in the survey: Human Capital, CEO Commitment, Corporate Communications and Supplier Diversity. Results will be delivered in a report within eight weeks of completing the survey. Deadline for completing the survey is 5 p.m. EST Friday, Feb. 11, 2005.

More than two-hundred companies are expected to compete in this year's ranking. The most in-depth analysis of corporate diversity management, leadership and marketing ever undertaken, the survey is the only compilation of substantial and valid metrics to assess diversity success nationally.

"Unlike many other surveys of a similar nature, the DiversityInc Top 50 is a true benchmark of progress in diversity and inclusion without being a burden for organizations to complete. The information requested is factual, analytical, and meaningful. We appreciate that the results are broken out into various demographic groups in a manner that is compelling, and that examples are provided of best practices" said Deborah Dagit, Executive Director, Diversity & Work Environment, Merck & Co., one of last year's winning companies.

The survey's methodology is unbiased and ethical and advertisers receive no special preference. Last year, 178 companies participated, up 50% from the previous year. The same survey is the basis for Top 50 list and subsidiary lists for the Top 10 respectively in the following categories: Recruitment & Retention, Supplier Diversity, African Americans, Latinos, Asian Americans, Executive Women, GLBT Employees, and Employees with Disabilities. Publicly traded corporations who make the Top 50 list automatically qualify for DiversityInc's "Top 50 Companies for Diversity Stock Index".

News of the competition and DiversityInc has garnered coverage in: Time, USA Today, The Washington Post, Associated Press, The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Fortune, and Chief Executive. The winning companies also have been spotlighted in hundreds of major market newspapers and other media outlets nationwide.
