SANTA CLARA CA - Hedge Funds Care, in conjunction with the San Francisco 49ers Foundation, will sponsor the fourth annual west coast, "Open Your Heart to the Children Benefit" at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art on March 9th, 2005 at 4:30 p.m.

San Francisco 49ers owner, Dr. John York, will join current 49ers players, 49ers Alumni players, coaches, administration and 500 people from the west coast hedge fund industry at this year's dinner which is well on its way to raising over $700,000.

The event will feature silent and live auctions, along with wine tasting from premier Napa and Sonoma Valley vineyards.

Dr. Bart Grossman from the University of California at Berkeley School of Social Welfare will help the Hedge Funds Care Allocation Committee allocate donated funds to designated agencies. Last year's grantees were: Alameda County Social Services (Department of Children and Family Services), CALICO Center, Children's Hospital Oakland, Community Violence Solutions, Contra Costa County Employment & Human Services Department, Edgewood Center for Children and Families, FamiliesFirst, San Francisco Court Appointed Advocates, San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center, Summer Search, and the Sunny Hill Children's Garden.

The co-chairs of this year's "Open Your Heart to the Children Benefit" will be Alison Sanger from Banc of America Securities and David Sung from Ernst & Young.

"We are very pleased to have this event in San Francisco for the fourth time," Sanger said. "Last year's event was a tremendous success, raising over $600,000 of which $465,000 was granted to eleven different Bay Area organizations. We look forward to the continued support of the hedge fund industry for this very worthy cause."

Funds raised for the event will be used to provide grants to existing organizations that address the prevention and treatment of child abuse in California. Sanger confirms that Hedge Funds Care continues to be the vehicle to serve those children in need.

Hedge Funds Care is an industry alliance formed in 1998 with the sole mission of raising funds to prevent and treat child abuse. To date, the group has raised $11 million nationally. In addition to the dinner in San Francisco, Hedge Funds Care is also holding events in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Toronto, Cayman Islands and New York.

Money will be raised through dinner donations and a silent auction. Table prices are $15,000 for a table of ten seats. Individual tickets are available for $1,750. For benefit information, please call Lorin Rokoff at 212-967-0322 *341.
